SMS Refund Program

Frequently Asked Questions

1 What are Premium SMS Charges?

Premium SMS (or Premium Short Messaging Service) was a service through which consumers purchased content for their wireless telephone that was delivered by third-party content providers through text message. Charges for such content were placed on a wireless telephone consumer’s bill. Common examples of Premium SMS content included sports information, entertainment, wireless telephone screen backgrounds, ringtones, and subscriptions to other services provided to wireless telephone users. Verizon Wireless discontinued delivering and billing for such Premium SMS products in January 2014.
